S.A.F.E. Kiama

I'm Sarah Marlan, candidate for S.A.F.E. Kiama.

I have lived in Kiama for 35 years, raised a family here and cared for ageing parents.

There is no doubt that I am deeply connected to this area, I love its natural beauty, beaches, hills and rivers. I love our outdoor life, sports, music and festivals.

I have worked locally as a safety officer in industry, trainer with an RTO, a registered nurse and now as a celebrant.

I have been privileged to enjoy the friendship & community that comes from being immersed in school, work & recreational groups.

As a member of this community I urgently see the need for an intelligent, rational, astute, non politically driven person (without a hidden agenda) to offer a fresh and challenging face on Kiama Council, and to be part of important planning decisions for Kiama. That person is Karen Renkema-Lang and I am proud to support her.

The vision I have for Kiama Council is one that is objective, creative, responsible and collaborative.

We need to ensure that any development is not only necessary but environmentally and ecologically balanced, not to lose what we have, but to enhance and preserve.
