S.A.F.E. Kiama

I'm Dan Balding & I have lived in Kiama for almost 60 years, completed 13 years of schooling here and spent the last 32 years as a licensed builder in the area.

Kiama has been growing and changing since the first European settlers. However, the changes we have witnessed in the last 10 years or so concern us.

Does the current development of the Kiama area reflect the reason many of us chose to live here? I doubt it.

The recent proliferation of multi storey and multi unit construction does not enhance the local amenity, and is the cause of considerable disappointment in our council and its methods of operation.

We need planning that considers more than people per square metre.

The S.A.F.E. team sees good planning and good governance as fundamental to achieving better results for everyone in our community.
