Labor for Kiama Council

Hi, I’m Michael Bowden. I grew up on the Eora Nation and have lived in Kiama on the Dharawal Nation since 2005. I am a dad of three kids, a teen daughter aged 13, a teen son aged 14 and my youngest son aged 10.

I have been working for TAFE NSW and the Wesley Mission, facilitating and training people in accredited courses and community-based workshops. I volunteer for a number of organisations: secretary on the committee of The Man Walk Australia and the Dad's group leader for The Fathering Project at Kiama Public School. I also help to facilitate parent and child camps with Habitus and run community events for my own social enterprise called Rockstar Dads.

I’m running for Council because I want to act on behalf of our community to create a more caring, stronger, and more resilient community. If elected I’ll listen and act to give our community the things they want, need and deserve.
