Bob Waite is a 77-year-old Gerringong local and retired automotive engineer.

Born to Foxground dairy farmers, he has lived and worked in Gerringong for most of his life.

It was his love of motorsport that inspired him to be involved in the motor car and motor repair industry.

Along with his wife, Lynne, Bob established Gerringong Village Auto Centre in 1988 earning the trust and respect of the local community. A truly family affair, his son and daughter work in the business, as does his grandson.

An active community member, he is a Rotarian with Gerringong Sunrise Rotary Club, and has been a driving force behind the annual Kiama & Gerringong Rotary car raffle, and Kiama Car Spectacular and Swap Meet.

Bob is a member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers, licensed mechanic and licensed air conditioning repairer.
