Kiama Council's controversial Akuna St holding has gone on the market, with property brokers Savills advising developers that Expressions of Interest close at 2pm on Thursday 14 April.
The following image shows what potential purchasers are being told about the site, describing it as a landmark mixed use development opportunity.
A site specific DCP for the property is currently on exhibition as part of the Draft Kiama Town Centre DCP. Once endorsed by Council, it will guide what is allowed on the site.
The Draft on display includes a public square, the desire for a laneway between the back of the Terralong St shops and the development, separate buildings of differing heights (up to six storeys), the retaining of significant trees and more.
Council’s site on the south of Akuna St is also included in the site specific DCP, with two buildings of three and four storeys, but is not included in this sale.
