The annual Sorry Day Ceremony held by Kiama Council to acknowledge and remember the injustice experienced by the stolen generation will again be held on 26 May outside the Old Council Chambers.
The special event will include a smoking ceremony by Aunty Gwenda and husband Stan Jarret, raising of the flags, and a performance by the Djaadjawan Dancers.
The day will also mark the start of Reconciliation Week where Australians can learn about our shared histories, cultures and how to contribute to achieving reconciliation.
This year’s theme is “Be a Voice for many Generations” which encourages everyone to pull together and be a voice for reconciliation.
Friday 26 May, Old Council Chambers Manning St, 10-11am
