Dr Michael McDonald, of Gerroa, has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the Catholic Church and the community.

He has had a long term involvement with the Sisters of the Good Samaritan and St Vincent de Paul, and was the Senior Official Visitor, Juvenile Justice NSW (now Youth Justice NSW), 2008-2013.
