Busy 24 Hours for Kiama Firefighters

On Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 of June, Kiama firefighters responded to two different incidents within 24 hours in the Kiama area.

The first occurred around 6pm on Wednesday on the Princes Highway at Kiama Heights. A vehicle had run off the roadway and down an embankment trapping the female driver.

Thankfully the driver was released from the car by the NSW SES Kiama Unit and Fire and Rescue crews, before being transported by an ambulance to the hospital. There has been no update on her condition.

The second incident occurred around 2 pm on Thursday afternoon, again on the Princes Highway. A trailer carrying three cows overturned near the intersection of Spring Creek Drive.

Two cows ran off with the third trapped in the trailer. The cow was released by crews a short time after and also ran off. Thankfully no one was injured in the crash.
