Woods-Ray Theatricals Inc promises magic this October school holidays with the Broadway adaptation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Running from October 3th to October 6th at the IMB Theatre, Illawarra Performing Arts Centre, the production will feature 29 talented local performers.
Originally created for television, Cinderella was the only musical Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote specifically for the screen, with Julie Andrews in the title role. The stage version brings a fresh twist to the classic tale. Ella (played by Jocelyn Bray) is more than just a “pretty face with the right size shoe,” she’s a spirited, soulful character who fights for her
dreams and inspires Prince Topher (Lachlan Pearce) to see the world in a new light.
Woods-Ray Theatricals Inc is an Illawarra based amateur musical society, aiming to bring high quality shows to stage and offering opportunities for the community to be involved in the arts. They are excited to bring this production to life, following the success of previous shows such as Disney’s Frozen Jr., The Wedding Singer, and Shrek: The Musical.
The show runs with matinee and evening performances over the weekend. Tickets are available at IPAC.org.au or the PAC Box Office at 32 Burelli Street, Wollongong.
