Comedy night raises thousands for local charityBarbara Haast, Maria Yates, Marilyn Oliver and Wendy Neale Tennis are second timers to the show.

Local charity, Homestead of Hope, has raised over $3,300 from Kiama Lions Club's Comedy for a Cause night.

The event, held at Kiama Leagues Club recently, showcased some of the best comedians from the Sydney and Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Organiser Cheryl Moses says over 200 people attended the event with all proceeds supporting the Homestead of Hope, a charity that aims to help the disadvantaged, lonely and the homeless.

"It is so important to support charities and groups in our own area," Cheryl says.

"A big thank you to the Kiama Community and all those who attended."

Everyone came out in droves to support the worthy cause whilst enjoying a night of comedy.
