To whom it may concern,
It disturbs me to read the anonymous letter in the 28th January edition of The Bugle that takes aim at Kiama Council for 'treating the ocean as a rubbish tip'. Given the amount of rubbish and litter that is left or deposited in bins by locals and visitors to the area, the Council does a remarkable job and needs to be thanked for cleaning up after us. The offenders here are the public who do not dispose of their rubbish as they would in their own home. Keeping our locality clean is as much our responsibility as it is Council's.
