Countdown to Kiama's Hot Rod Run

With just two weeks left, excitement is revving up for the Hot Rod Run in Kiama, taking place from the 6 to 8 September 2024. Whether you're planning to soak in the entire weekend or just cruise down on Sunday September 8, for the Show & Shine, this event promises something for every hot rod enthusiast.

“A special thanks goes to The Bugle, our local newspaper, for their generous sponsorship, which includes a donation to a local charity - showing their commitment to the community,” says The Romans Kiama Organising Committee.

Weekend Highlights:

Friday, September 6:

·        Meet & Greet: Kick off the weekend at Kendall’s Beach Caravan Park from 4pm. Bring your own food and drinks and enjoy the company of fellow Hot Rodders while soaking up the scenic views.

Saturday, September 7:

·        Morning Observation Run: Gather at ‘The Lighthouse’ in Kiama at 9:30am for a short observation run around the area, departing around 10am. The run will conclude with tea and coffee in Berry. Aim to park on the main street, if possible, though ample parking is available nearby.

·        Lunch at Gerroa Fisherman’s Club: Departing from Berry at 11:30am, it’s a quick 15-minute cruise to Gerroa Fisherman’s Club for lunch and the presentation of prizes for the most observant Hot Rodders.

·        Evening Sausage Sizzle: Wind down the day at Kendall’s Beach Caravan Park, where the Romans will host a sausage sizzle from 5pm at the Camp Kitchen. Bring your own drinks and stick around for the raffle draw and trivia quiz with prizes.

Sunday, September 8:

·        Show & Shine at Black Beach Reserve: Starting from 8am, the Show & Shine will feature a $10 entry fee for display cars and free entry for the public. Enjoy live music, trade stands, food stalls, and a raffle, culminating in a presentation of the Top 5 cars around 1pm.

This event wouldn't be possible without the generous sponsors, including the Australian Street Rod Federation (ASRF), Shannon’s Insurance, Mooneyes Kool Kulture, Kevin and Leanne Daley, and Jason Cavanagh’s Restorations at Corrimal. The Romans Kiama Organising Committee extends heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed.

For those planning to stay the weekend, there are plenty of accommodation options in and around the Kiama area. It promises to be a great weekend.
