A Show wouldn’t be a Show without the woodchop, and to celebrate its 175th year the Kiama Show Society has organised a world class event.
The Kiama Show will play host to 42 axemen and women from around Australia – including members of Australia’s 2022 World Championship-winning team: multiple World Champion Brad Delosa (NSW), current National Rookie Champion, Curtis Bennett (NSW) and 2018 World Timbersport Champion, Laurence O’Toole (VIC), as well as Glen Gillam (NSW) and Jason Lentz from the USA.
“This year, fans of the popular Saturday Woodchop event are in for a treat with the Pat Gallagher Memorial – Australian 325mm Underhand Championship and two NSW titles, the 500mm Double Handed Sawing Championship and Jim Harris Memorial 325mm Standing Block Championship as part of the day’s schedule,” says Kiama Show Society President Neil McLaren.
