End of beach patrol seasonEnd of beach patrol season

With the autumn school holidays drawing to an end, the beach patrols will continue until Sunday, 28 April. This ends the beach patrol season until the October school holidays.

Kiama Council lifeguards and volunteer lifesavers will be on duty during the school holidays at the following beaches:

  • Jones Beach (Kiama Downs)
  • Surf Beach (Kiama)
  • Werri Beach (Gerringong).

Beachgoers are reminded to use patrolled beaches, swim between the flags and follow water safety advice. The same rule applies to everyone, regardless of swimming skills and experience: no flags means no swimming.

The Council’s lifeguards particularly warn people against swimming at drowning black spots, South Bombo Beach and Blowhole Point.

Thank you to our local lifeguards and lifesavers, who put in more than 400 patrol days each season, so that locals and visitors alike can safely enjoy the district’s beautiful beaches.
