Albion Park Rail Bypass has had the speed limit increased from 80 km/h to 100 km/h today, as minor works on the project have now been completed.

The completion of the Bypass means there are now no traffic lights on the Princes Highway between Heathcote and Bomaderry, with the timing coinciding with the lifting of restrictions between Greater Sydney and the regions.

“Residents and travellers can now enjoy a much faster journey on the newest road in our region,” says the Member for Kiama, Gareth Ward.

“I promised local residents that the speed limit would be increased to 100km/h by the start of November. When I make a promise to our community – I always get it done.

“As promised, we have delivered the project well ahead of time and on budget. I am so proud of the team at Fulton Hogan and Transport for NSW who have worked so hard to deliver a project that will change our region for the better."
