The Kiama Community Garden and the adjacent Hillside Landcare group are having the first of a series of regular talks this Saturday 21 January.
The first topic of interest for garden lovers - Snakes and other reptiles in your backyard – will be by Hugh Marriot, the local Reptiles Coordinator for WIRES Illawarra.
It will cover everything from identification, habitat to deter or attract, the impact of escapees and ferals, first aid and what WIRES is doing to help native wildlife.
The organisers are planning to hold regular talks, and welcome any suggestions for topics or speakers.
The talk will be held at the Community Garden, tucked away Blue Haven Terralong Stage 5 and the sporting fields. It is a great chance to check out the garden and its facility, and find out if you’ve found your tribe.
Saturday 21 January, 1-2pm. RSVP via [email protected] as space is limited. Welcome to bring your own lunch.
