Gales bring large number of power cuts

The gale force winds have disrupted the power supply to central Kiama, with large portions of Manning, Terralong, Collins and other streets without power.

An increasing number of other suburbs are also affected throughout the Municipality, with over 40 incidents currently being recorded.

The highest gust recorded at Bombo Headland this morning was 87km.

Council's Administration Centre is one of the businesses that has had to close as its phones and IT systems are down.

Please contact the SES on 132 500 to report any emergencies, trees down or other damage caused by the current high winds, and keep away from any electricity wires.

Or report a power outage with Endeavour Energy at www.endeavourenergy.com.au or call 131 003

Current power outages are also available at that site.
