Readers of The Bugle have heard a lot about Jane Stroud, Council’s CEO, since she took on the challenging role in the middle of last year – but Thursday offers you a chance to get to know her as a person.
She was quick, and perhaps brave, to agree to being part of The Kazador season of the Kiki Tapes, where she will be interviewed by our own international celebrity, Kiki Bittovabitsch. The sitting Member and candidate for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, will also take to the stage on Saturday.
“The Kiki Tapes are playful, fun and real,” says The Kazador’s artistic director, Tamara Campbell.
“Kiki interviews the humans behind the job, the role, the politics.
“Who are these people really and what brings them joy, makes them laugh, cry, struggle and what do they fear?
“Having a public facing job/role often means the real person is hidden behind the walls of an image.
“Kiki likes to get in and have a good old chat and find out what really makes the human tick and what are the changes they would like to see in the world.”
During the Council election, Kiki’s interviews with most of the candidates certainly gave a different insight.
“We all deserve to be seen for who we really are, not just for what we do,” says Kiki.
“No one knows how to crack a nut like I do.”
Next week, Kiki will also be interviewing Debra Oswald about her life and her latest novel, The Family Doctor (12 May 7.30pm) and The Tree Whisperer - looking at ways of saving our planet (13 May 6.30pm).
