Half of Gilmore has already voted

Nine thousand people have already cast their vote for the Federal election at the pre-polling centre in Hindmarsh Park, as part of the almost 50 per cent of the whole Gilmore to have done so.

The pre-polls have gone up to the electoral coordination centre in Port Kembla for sorting, with counting to begin when booths close at 6pm tomorrow (Saturday 21 May).

Commitments continue to flow from both the major parties, with the focus primarily south of Kiama.

Polling stations on election day, 8am-6pm

  • Kiama High School
  • Joyce Wheatley Community Centre
  • North Kiama Neighbourhood Centre
  • Minnamurra Public School
  • Jamberoo Public School
  • Gerringong Town Hall
  • Gerringong Uniting Church
  • Gerroa Neighbourhood Centre

Of these, after a ring around, the only sausage sizzle we have found is at Jamberoo Public School, where there will be one organised by the P&C as well as a Red Cross stall.

Minnamurra Public School P&C is holding a cake stall.

For those who are isolating with COVID, last minute changes to the regulations governing voting is allowing for telephone voting. Please see the Electoral Commission website for details.
