Update: road now open

A head-on crash at the Woolworths roundabout has closed Terralong St between Collins St and Havillah Place while police investigate.

It appears that upon exiting the Woolworths carpark, a car picked up speed quickly with the momentum taking it across the raised garden median strip and onto the westbound side of the road.

According to bystanders, it then hit a parked car with force causing it to move sideways and knocking down a pedestrian.

The car then continued at speed down the wrong side of the street, hitting another car head-on in the roundabout.

As we understand it, the pedestrian was taken off in an ambulance for treatment, but the drivers were largely unharmed.

It is unclear when the road will be opened to through traffic.
