The final leg of the highway upgrades south of Kiama is complete, with the $450 million section from Berry to Bomaderry now open for traffic.
The next project to smooth out the journey south is the new Nowra bridge project, which has just reached the other side of the river in its construction. That $342 million project is jointly funded by the NSW and Australian Governments, and is expected to be complete by mid 2024.
Further south, the Jervis Bay Road inter-change is due to start later this year.
"Too many people have lost their lives on the Princes Highway and by providing for a dual lane divided Princes Highway, we will see a significant reduction in accidents and loss of life on what was once a notorious section of road," says the Member for Kiama Gareth Ward, noting that $2 billion has been dedicated to the Princes Highway since he was elected.
