Jamberoo Probus May reportErin Addison-Smith and Jacob Cooper from Fulton Hogan, with member David Barnes

The Club has provided this report:

May was another exciting month for Probus Club of Jamberoo Inc, highlighted by a fantastic Race Day at Kembla Grange with 57 members attending.

The June Outing is an Inside Industry Working Port Tour of the Steelworks on Friday, June 19 from 9.30am. Cost is $20.

It’s a comprehensive bus tour of the Inner and Outer Harbour where we will see the Ports key infrastructures. It includes a short stop at Christy drive, offering spectacular views of the Inner Harbour berths, then the additional infrastructure and Industries that are in and around the Outer Harbour. The Tour will finish on a beautiful high at Hill 60 with amazing panoramic views of the Illawarra coastline and an optional lunch at Port Kembla Leagues Club.

Our May meeting was fantastic, with a record turnout and we welcomed Erin Addison-Smith and Kiama local Jacob Cooper from Fulton Hogan who gave us a comprehensive look at the progress of the Albion Park Rail Bypass, highlighting how complex the planning and construction of this huge project is.

President David Hall launched our monthly members talk and we look forward to further contributions from other members in the upcoming meetings.

The club has welcomed seven new members, taking us to 95 members which is most gratifying.
