The Kiama Cavaliers “Cavettes” women’s cricket team is celebrating their advancement to the finals of the South Coast District Cricket Association competition. The Friday night competition has seen women and girls enjoying great success this season and look forward to the semi-final that takes place this week.
The Cavettes have showcased exceptional skill and sportsmanship this season. From mothers and daughters to students and professionals, experienced or rookie players, the team caters to all skill levels and welcomes a diverse range of players.
The girls play in their distinctive blue and pink colours each friday night at 5.30pm, competing under lights in the 20-over format. The primary prerequisite for joining the team is a passion for cricket, coupled with a willingness to learn and have fun.
Despite facing challenges in previous seasons, the Cavettes have made significant strides this year, demonstrating remarkable improvements in batting, bowling, and fielding. These enhancements have translated into several victories, their hard work and determination securing their spot in the semi finals.
The Cavettes eagerly anticipate their upcoming semi final clash against Oak Flats Ratatouilles this Friday at 5:30 PM at Albion Oval 2. The team welcomes all women and girls interested in cricket to join them for an exciting display of athletic talent and teamwork.
