Proud of its commitment to maintaining a connection between food producers and the public over the life of the pandemic, the Kiama Farmers' Market is disappointed this Wednesday's market (Wednesday 21 July) has had to be cancelled.
"The weather is going to be horrible, and COVID restrictions mean the Pavilion is not available to us as a wet weather venue," says the Market's Manager, Tricia Ashelford.
"The forecast for 50+km winds, rain and really cold weather would make running the Kiama Farmers' Market outdoors this week very unsafe."
Current restrictions that only allows for 150 inside the Pavilion at any given time (including stallholders & staff).
Tricia recommends people go to their offshoot, the Berry Farmers' Market, the next day to stock up on their local goods.
"Only stallholders from non-lockdown areas will be in attendance this week, with stalls from Greater Sydney, Wollongong & Shellharbour staying home," she says.
The Berry Market, which is largely undercover, is on Thursday 22 July from 2-5pm at the Berry Showground.
