With the rain on the southern edge of the trough expected to ease further over the next couple of days, it appears Kiama has missed the brunt of the predicted bad weather which led to the cancellation of the L'Etape cycling event for safety reasons.
The amount of rain recorded is at the lower end of the predictions, with 44.4mm recorded at Bombo in the 24 hours to 9am today, and a further 4.8mm until 3.30pm today.
While Swamp Road and Macquarie Pass are closed due to flooding, Jamberoo Mountain Road is currently open (check livetraffic.com for updates). Neither Jamberoo Pre-School or the previously affected houses in Gerringong, have experienced flooding this time.
Kiama SES reports only one call out this weekend, for a fallen tree.
