The 174th Kiama Show began this morning with a welcomed return of show jumping and cattle judging, and more is to come throughout the day.
Local Sienna Smee won the first event, the Junior Show Jump for riders under 17yrs, on her horse Barwo View Widget.
The Pavilion has also returned as a centre of attention, with more than 2000 categories of exhibits. These include vegetables and fruits, cookery such as cakes, jams and condiments, wool articles/garments, needlecrafts, handcrafts and more.
The Billy Cart races at 3pm this afternoon are expected to suffer from a wet track, and competition will again be fierce at the Pet Show at 4pm.
The Kiama Show Young Woman Presentation is to be made at 5pm.

The concert tomorrow from 6pm will feature local artists Frank Sultana, The Splayds, Boyzenberry and the Lachie Mills Trio. Kiama’s first official fireworks for some time will bring an end to the Show at 9pm.
