The Kiama Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) rallied their partners for a night of square-dancing to raise funds for the club.
“Whether folks were seasoned square dancers or complete greenhorns, everyone had a fantastic time,” said club president Phil Perry.
The SLSC are made up of volunteer lifeguards who patrol the busy Surf Beach between September and April every year. They provide a safe place to learn surfing, health and life skills powered by their volunteers.
Held on Saturday, the inaugural square dance saw community members band together and don their ‘best cowboy hats and boots, kicking up their heels for an evening of boot-scootin’’.
“It was a night of laughter, dancing, and community spirit, all while supporting Kiama’s beach heroes”, Perry said.
