Kiama residents and their pets will soon benefit from a new state-of-the-art dog park funded by a $42,600 grant from the NSW Government. The project is in response to growing community demand as the number of dog owners increases in the Kiama area. The park
The new park will be located at Wyalla-Gibson Crescent in Jamberoo, it will feature separate areas for large and small dogs, agility equipment, shaded seating, water stations, and secure fencing.
The project has already received widespread support from local residents who have expressed the need for more outdoor recreational areas for pet owners.
As the first councillor in years to table a petition in a council meeting of more than 1000 signatures for a fenced dog space, Councillor Stuart Larkins is proud to be delivering on his commitment.
“I’m very pleased to see significant progress being made on delivering our first fenced dog space in the Kiama LGA.”
The development will provide a safe, off leash space for dogs to socialise and exercise. It is part of a broader initiative by the Minns Labor Government to enhance green spaces in the Shoalhaven and surrounding areas.
