Hi...just want to suggest similar measures to those the Vic govt have introduced as another tool for alleviating housing stress in Kiama and other coastal towns.

Land tax for property other than primary residences.

The tax needs to be big enough to make owning a holiday house less attractive.

This would reduce demand for property alleviating housing price. Holiday houses sit empty a lot of the year.

This is a huge waste in a housing crisis. Tax raised could be directed to homelessness services or social housing.
