Four Kiama residents have been recognised in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours:
Judi O'Brien, centre, and her branch members with the Chairman's Shield
Judi O'Brien, long time president of the Kiama Red Cross, has been awarded a Medal in the General Division (OAM) for service to the community of Kiama.
Under her leadership, Kiama Red Cross has won the prestigious Chairman’s Shield seven times, in recognition of it being the country branch to raise the most money for Red Cross Calling. Yesterday, they were at it again, raising funds through the Red Cross Fun Run.

Norma Stead has also been awarded a Medal in the General Division (OAM) for service to tennis, and to the community of Kiama.
Now 96, she only stepped down from the Kiama Tennis' executive four years ago, after a lifetime of involvement running the Club.
Peter Masterson has been awarded a Public Service Medal (PSM) for outstanding public service through leading engagement with local business communities, linking them to Government and Industry business grants and support programs.
Chris Warren, the leader of the Kiama SES, has been awarded the Emergency Services Medal.
Our congratulations and thanks to them all for their contributions.
