Looking at options for the upcoming election : I could never consider voting for any candidate who has been sitting for a lengthy time.

The reason is simple ... just look at the expenditure/revenue leaflet that accompanied your last rate notice.

Anyone who sat on council year after year and could not grasp that 28% of expenditure allocated to aged care facilities and services was in need of a massive turnaround must have been asleep or without understanding. Probably the latter.

Councils aren't for the establishment and maintenance of aged care at ratepayer expense.

Council dollars just can't spread to that. The chamber needs a cleanout - we need people who can understand and manage and track our affairs.

Be confident that those you vote for have experience and skills that are up to the task.
