The speed bump at the corner of Bong Bong Street and Shoalhaven Street has been removed, to the relief of many Kiama motorists.

On Monday 4 September 2023, the concrete pour for the traffic dividers replacing the speed bump closed the road. The gap between the raised pedestrian crossing is 3.4 metres - large enough for any truck to pass safely.

The speed bump at the pedestrian crossing on the Kiama railway bridge remains in place.
