The Bugle has received word from the organisers of Opera in the Valley that soprano Pamela Andrews will be unable to perform on Saturday 4 November, due to her unexpected stay in the USA due to Covid. However, there's no need to despair, as Maestro Glen Amer has secured the talented Michaela Leisk as a replacement.
Michaela Leisk, who recently graced the stage in Sydney, notably starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Aspects of Love" at the Hayes Theatre, where she understudied the role of Giulietta. Her repertoire includes memorable performances as Calisto in Offenbach's "Daphnis and Chloe" with Pacific Opera, Orlenda in Charody Productions' captivating circus opera, "The Carnival," and her role as Rose Pickles in the creative development of "Cloudstreet: The Opera." Michaela also boasts an impressive seven-year tenure as a member of the 7 Sopranos and contributed her remarkable voice to their debut self-titled album in collaboration with ABC Classics.
In 2020, Michaela Leisk exhibited her versatile talent as Swing during Cameron Mackintosh's UK and Ireland tour of "The Phantom of the Opera."
