School Travels

Year 12 Geography students travelled to Sydney to study the processes of urban decay and renewal at Barangaroo. The excursion gave students the chance to see firsthand the urban dynamics that we have been studying in the HSC Geography course. Later in the year, the class will be travelling to Cairns to study the Great Barrier Reef.

On Thursday the 14th March, Year 8 Geography students spent the day at Mt Keira. There, they learned about the formation of the Illawarra escarpment, the variety of plants and animals present there, and the various ways in which Mt Keira is valuable. i.e. aesthetically, culturally and economically.

Year 11 Geography students spent the day at the Minnamurra River to apply the learning we have been doing about Earth's Natural Systems. The students examined the ways in which the Earth's atmospheric, hydrological, geologic and ecological systems interact in the river environment.
