Of the two new COVID-19 cases recorded for the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District as of 8pm last night, one is a resident of Kiama Local Government Area (LGA) and is isolating at home.

Investigations are continuing, however this case is likely linked to employment in Sydney.

This is the second case in our LGA.

On the upside, our area has one of the highest vaccination rates in the country. As of 19 August, in the 2533 postcode, 60-69% had received their first vaccination and 40-49% were fully vaccinated. In 2534, Gerringong and surrounds, the same percentage had received the first vaccination, but 30-39% were fully vaccinated. Full details, including maps, available from NSW Health.
