Secondhand Saturday on tomorrowThe popular tradition returns

Despite today’s rain, bargain hunters will be relieved to know that Kiama’s giant community car boot sale - last held in 2019 - is on tomorrow.

With 130 registrations, the event is fully booked and Waste Management Officer Josephine St John is expecting up to 3,000 people.

Residents are able to sell, trade, swap or giveaway their pre-loved items with everyone welcome to come by to search for a bargain.

“It is something that people, not only in our community but also outside the community, look forward to,” says Ms St John.

With the whole idea of the event to help minimize waste going to landfill, anything people can’t get rid of on the day can drop it off to the Household Bulky Waste Drop-off event the following weekend.

“Anything we can see be reused or repurposed will be put away into our Up4Grabs shed,” says Ms St John.

All gold coin donations accepted at the entrance will go toward funding the Kiama Netball Association, which is the co-host of the event.

Saturday 4 March, Black Beach Kiama, 8-12pm
