Traffic was backed up northbound after a serious two car accident on the Princes Highway at the Hutchinson Street exit ramp heading north across from Bombo Beach at 12.31 pm today.
Emergency Crews Respond to Bombo Accident
Rescue vehicles, ambulance and police raced to the scene. Kiama firefighters provided fire protection whilst Kiama SES removed one of the drivers from a vehicle. The driver was then transported to hospital by NSW Ambulance. NSW Police are investigating.

The Princes Highway was closed in both directions for nearly an hour.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
Light vehicles already in the area were advised to divert through the Kiama township.
- Southbound motorists were warned to leave the Princes Highway at Gipps Street, Collins Street, Terralong Street, Manning Street and South Kiama Drive.
- Northbound motorists advised to leave the Princes Highway at Weir Street then head onto South Kiama Drive at Bombo.
Heavy vehicles were being parked.
