Shellharbour City Council is calling for nominations for its prestigious Hall of Fame, which honours outstanding members of the community.
The Hall of Fame was established in 1988 and requires nominees to have been residents or business owners in the Shellharbour City LGA for at least 10 years. Nominations close on 28 June.
Inductees are selected every four years from various fields, including science, innovation, education, research, business, public services, arts, sports and recreation.
Currently, there are 35 notable individuals currently in The Hall of Fame, these include researcher Harold Goodwin, former alderman and mayor Keith Grey, Antarctic explorer Robert Dovers, Olympic swimmer Beverly Whitfield.
Shellharbour Mayor, Chris Homer emphasised the importance of recognising those who have excelled in their fields, stating, “Hall of Fame recognition is reserved for those who have shaped their field and contributed to the community and beyond.”
