Sydney Water considering increasing size of Jamberoo main

While the fate of the Golden Valley Rd DA is still undecided [Rescission motion on Golden Valley Rd decision], there is a ray of hope that an approved development will result in additional sewage connections being available to the whole of Jamberoo.

In his presentation at Public Access, Lawson Fredericks, of the developer Fountaindale Group, broke the news that his latest talks with Sydney Water were about bringing additional sewer capacity to the village by installing a bigger main.

This has been confirmed by Sydney Water, with a spokesperson telling The Bugle, “Sydney Water has held discussions with the Fountaindale Group regarding the potential to increase the size of the pipe connected to the Jamberoo pumping station, which may accommodate possible growth in Jamberoo.”

While stressing that it was still early days, Mr Fredericks said the larger main to the Jerrara pumping station could service “200ish” connections, compared to the 51 lots in the proposed Golden Valley Rd estate.

It would then be up to Sydney Water how the connections were allocated.

At the moment, there are no additional connections available in the village, halting DAs that require a toilet.

Asked who will bear the cost, Mr Fredericks said their expectation was that it would be a cost sharing exercise between Fountaindale and Sydney Water.
