Recommendations for Kiama Council:
Visitors who drive into Kiama, park, bring their own food, and either dispose of their rubbish in bins or leave it behind, often contribute little to supporting local businesses or the town's economy. Meanwhile, Kiama residents are left to bear the cost of the substantial clean-up efforts required after these visits.
To address this imbalance, a small fee could be introduced for visitors to access and enjoy local attractions, such as the Blowhole. This would ensure that tourists contribute directly to maintaining these wonders while alleviating the financial burden on local residents.
