Here's what happened in the Kiama LGA over the weekend
Kiama Enhance grand re-opening
Kiama Enhance service station on Collins Street had its grand re-opening on Saturday 21 October with lots of freebies and giveaways.
The festivities kicked off at 9am and included a free sausage sizzle, soft drinks, door prizes and a $2000 free fuel prize draw, and the most popular feature, discounted petrol until midday.
The shop was remodeled into a Fletch and Co franchise with a six-metre mural of Kiama sights by Liv of Kiama Art Workshops.
Rachel Connery on behalf of Park Fuels said: “Firstly, the biggest T H A N K Y O U to everyone that helped with the planning and organisation of the event.”
“We’ve definitely had to overcome some roadblocks to get everything in place. To say I’m grateful for the support is an understatement!”

Busy weekend for paramedics
A woman in her sixties fell on rocks at the southern end of Bombo beach on Sunday at 10:45am. While not seriously injured she was unable to walk after injuring her hip. She was transported by ambulance to Wollongong Hospital.
Multiple NSW Ambulance units attended Kiama Blowhole at around 2pm on Saturday after reports that a person had fallen nearby. Medical personnel treated one person for lacerations to the leg and transported both of them to Shellharbour Hospital. Ambulance also at Blackbeach! A busy weekend for medics!
KISS Arts Festival
The KISS Arts Festival had large crowds entertained by circus and cabaret acts on a warm weekend in Kiama. One of the highlights of the show was the high wire flying trapeze where all ages could fly just like in the circus!
Winners of the raft race across Kiama Harbour were Charli Coddington, Finn Cunningham and Archie Cunningham and winners of the most innovative raft, the Foosh Floater, went to Matt and Sabrina.
Watch out for social media scams
Locals on social media are being warned of buy and sell approaches through direct messaging. A woman on the Kiama Community Page on Facebook recently lost $800 in a scam sale of kitchen equipment. Anyone who sees a scam on social media should report it as soon as possible.
