The ABC has reported that a 21 year old woman died yesterday after being winched from the water off The Boneyard, despite the best efforts of emergency services.

Her 21 year old male companion was also rescued, and is in a serious but stable condition.

It is understood the pair were washed off the rocks while out walking.

No further detail is available at this time.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
