Workshops for young Show competitorsAngela Miller and Sue Cox are looking forward to holding the workshops

Workshops are being held ahead of the Kiama Show, on 27-28 January, to help young people prepare their Kewpie Doll and Painted Rock entries for competition.

The return of dressing Kewpie Dolls proved to be a hit when they were reintroduced at the 2018 Kiama Show, but this will be the first time that Painted Rocks have appeared as a category.

They became a trend that touched many hearts during COVID lockdowns, as people left painted rocks with uplifting messages in public places for people to find.

The how-to workshops will be a great activity during the school holidays.

The workshop hosts, Angela Miller and Sue Cox, were the instigators of welcoming back the Kewpies.

“I think we are the only Show with this section. It attracted a lot of interest and brings back great memories for people of bygone shows,” Sue says.

“We will have everything on hand at the workshops to get little ones started on their entries for this fun Show section.”

Of course, adults can also join in the fun and dress their own Kewpies for judging as well. Go to the Pavilion on the day of the workshops to obtain a doll.

The Workshops are on Wednesday 18 January, Kiama Pavilion, 10-12pm and 1-3pm. Entry in $5.
