Kiama Leisure Centre is hosting an Abilities Unleashed session for children living with disability, during the upcoming autumn school holidays.
The session, which is free of charge, will be held on Tuesday the 16th of April between 10am and 1pm.
The Abilities Unleashed Program, organised by Disability Sports Australia, encourages active ways forward for people living with disabilities aged up to 25.
These free multi-sport ‘come and try’ days provide the initial steps in the journey of children living with disabilities.
Each session aims to motivate and enable participants by giving them the opportunity to try a variety of sports and recreation within a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.
Participants are split into small groups and rotate across four to six activity stations.
Each activity consists of modified sport and active recreation and uses adaptive equipment to suit the participants.
The activities are facilitated by specialised coaches with the support of students and community organisations.
Benefits of attending the day:
Cost: Free.
