Kiama Mayor Neil Reilly Returns to Council After Leave of AbsenceMayor Neil Reilly

Mayor Neil Reilly has resumed his duties this week following a month-long leave of absence, expressing gratitude to Deputy Mayor Imogen Draisma for her capable stewardship during his absence.


In his statement, Mayor Reilly commended Cr Draisma for doing a ‘sterling job’, including chairing the March Council Meeting and attending civic events and media engagements. Mayor Reilly said he is thrilled to return to work, anticipating a busy and dynamic period ahead.



Mayor Reilly cited several significant developments on the horizon for the Council, including the Blue Haven divestment, mid-year budgets, and the upcoming Local Government Elections in September, which includes a referendum on the direct election of the Mayor.



“So much hard work has been done and continues to be undertaken by Councillors and Council staff and I’m positive about seeing some great outcomes realised in this final period of our current term of office.”
