Cars are being detoured behind the southern Manning St shops after an accident saw Police, the SES and the Ambulance attend the scene to help.

According to eyewitnesses, a car heading north turned into the laneway beside the Brooding Italian, causing a car heading south to crash into it.

The driver of the first car was able to get out easily, but the driver of the second car needed assistance to get out. She (a person known to the reporter) has been taken away in an ambulance as a precautionary measure, although she called out to the writer while being lifted in that she was fine.

It is unclear how long the diversion will be in place.
