The flags outside of the Kiama Council Chambers have been raised to full mast today, to mark the Proclamation of King Charles III.
In accordance with protocol, all flags across Australia were raised at noon to coincide with the Proclamation being announced by the Governor-General at Parliament House in Canberra.
Flags will be lowered to half mast again at dusk until the day after the Queen's funeral, which is being held at Westminster Abbey on 19 September.
The NSW Proclamation ceremony, held outside of Parliament House in Macquaire Street, has attracted thousands to the city centre.
A National Day of Mourning has been declared by the Prime Minister, Mr Albanese. The public holiday will be held on Thursday 22 September, to coincide with an Australian memorial service for the Queen.
