Big wet continuesKiama Harbour is again home to big waves.

While the East Coast Low has not arrived as expected, our region is still experiencing damaging winds, massive rainfall and flooding.

As at 11am, the following roads were closed in our LGA: Swamp Rd, Browns Lane, Factory Lane and Minnamurra Lane, Jamberoo. Jamberoo Mountain Road remains open as an alternate route for light vehicles given the closure of Macquarie Pass.

Yesterday’s landslip on the Kiama Bends continues to result in only one northbound lane being opened, but that is expected to reopen later today after an inspection by geotech engineers.

Kiama to Bomaderry Railway Line remains closed, with buses are replacing services.

Foam at Gerringong this morning

Local beaches continue to be closed, given the high tides and large seas which are generating much foam and erosion.

Council says its crews are continuing to monitor and inspect known flood and land slip areas to address issues if and when they arise.
