DoorDash relaunches disaster relief fund for Australian restaurants

DoorDash has announced the continuation of its Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund to help support Australian restaurants affected by natural disasters.

Eligible restaurants can receive grants of up to $15,000 to cover critical expenses.

In collaboration with Hello Alice and Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), DoorDash is offering 100 additional $15,000 grants this year for businesses in the other countries such as the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Since its inception the fund has awarded 180 grants around the world that have helped to assist businesses with essential costs such as payroll, inventory, marketing, and general operations.

Shilpa Arora, Acting General Manager for DoorDash Australia says, “Australians understand all too well the devastating effects of natural disasters like bushfires and floods. This initiative aims to assist small businesses during their most vulnerable times.”

Applications for Australian businesses are accepted on a rolling basis through to May 2025.

Eligibility requirements state that restaurants must have one to three physical locations, fewer than 50 employees per location, have been operational for at least six months, and must have been impacted by an eligible state or federally declared natural disaster. Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the declared disaster.
