Parks Fuel has announced the installation of an E85 ethanol pump at their Kiama Enhance station in Collins Street in Kiama. The fuel is 85 percent Ethanol blended with 15 percent 98 Octane petrol.

As a promotion the E85 at Kiama Enhance will be sold at a small discount.

One hundred per cent ethanol or alcohol only engines with no fossil fuels at all are often used for high performance cars and racing cars. Even E85 is favoured for high performance enthusiasts in Australia. Alcohol has been used for car engines since the invention of the automobile and has many advantages with better combustion efficiencies.

It is worth being cautious and checking if your vehicle is ‘flex fuel ready’ for E85 which should be in your car manual, or on the fuel door or fuel cap. Older and more traditional petrol engines could suffer damage if using E85 so check your vehicle is compatible first.
